Jennings Weighs In During CNN Segment on Trump

Just when you thought the media couldn’t squeeze another headline out of Donald Trump’s rally speeches, along comes a pearl-clutching meltdown over — wait for it — lingerie. Yes, CNN and the usual chorus of Democrat loyalists are now trying to convince America that a lighthearted, off-topic riff during Trump’s North Carolina speech is proof he’s “burgeoning on senility.” Because apparently, cracking a joke about Melania’s undergarments is now more scandalous than a sitting president allegedly not recognizing George Clooney at a fundraiser or needing to be shielded from his own cabinet due to cognitive decline. Welcome to where humor is dementia, and actual decline gets buried on page 32 — if it’s covered at all.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is what passes for serious political commentary in 2025.

Meanwhile, the same media complex that spent four years running defense for a literally stumbling Joe Biden now wants us to believe they’re the new gatekeepers of cognitive health. You can’t make this stuff up. These are the same folks who spent two election cycles telling us that video after video of Biden mumbling, freezing, falling, or forgetting what office he held were “deepfakes” or “Russian disinformation.” But now, because Trump went a little off-script at a rally — something he’s always done and people love him for — we’re apparently in uncharted territory.

CNN’s Scott Jennings wasn’t having it, and honestly, good for him. When Sellers and former Biden comms director Kate Bedingfield tried to tag Trump as cognitively declining, Jennings all but laughed in their faces. Because here’s the thing — if you’re going to bring up age and mental fitness, you have to talk about Joe Biden. You know, the guy who allegedly had to be shielded from his own cabinet while top aides scrambled to prop up his reelection bid like it was Weekend at Bernie’s: Oval Office Edition.

But don’t worry, CNN wants you to know this is totally different.

Of course, none of these critiques existed when Biden went off on bizarre tangents, wandered away from podiums, or stared blankly during press conferences like someone waiting for a buffering screen to disappear. That was just “Biden being Biden.” But Trump goes off on a riff about furniture or lingerie — again, nothing new for those who’ve followed his rallies — and suddenly it’s Defcon 1?

Let’s not forget, CNN’s own Jake Tapper co-authored a book this year, Original Sin, that details how Biden’s team allegedly covered up his physical and mental decline. We’re talking direct accounts from White House staff, Democrat congressmen, and people who were there. According to the book, Biden’s physician even warned that the president may need a wheelchair following a fall in 2023. A fall that, mind you, was just the latest in a long string of incidents that the White House press shop routinely downplayed or spun as “wind-related.” Because in 2021, the New York Times genuinely tried to convince the public that Biden fell up the stairs of Air Force One because of a breeze.

Now contrast that with this week’s New York Times headline alleging Trump “appears tired” and isn’t making as many public appearances. That’s right — Trump’s not declining, he’s tired. The man is 79 years old, flying state to state, speaking at rallies, running the country, and apparently still sparking fear in the hearts of Democrats just by existing. But the left wants to diagnose him with senility because he cracked a joke and didn’t stick to the D.C.-approved talking points.

This isn’t journalism. It’s gaslighting with a press pass.

Let’s be real: Trump’s stamina and ability to command a room still make half of Capitol Hill look like they need a nap and a nurse. The man survived two impeachments, an alleged onslaught of legal attacks, endless media hit pieces, and still came roaring back to retake the White House. Biden? He allegedly couldn’t remember the name of a world leader five minutes after shaking their hand. The bar isn’t just low — it’s subterranean.

So yes, Trump talks like a real person. Sometimes he says something unexpected. Sometimes he’s irreverent. And sometimes, if you’re a political operative at CNN, it’s the scariest thing in the world — because it reminds you that you don’t get to control the narrative anymore.

And maybe that’s why they’re really so obsessed with his every word. Because after years of pretending the Biden presidency was “normal,” they’ve finally run out of gas. And Trump’s jokes? They’re just the spark that reminds everyone how fake the last four years really were.

So go ahead, corporate media. Keep trying to convince America that this is the crisis. Meanwhile, the rest of us are too busy laughing — and watching Trump pack stadiums — to take your latest meltdown seriously.
