Legendary NFL analyst Terry Bradshaw is once again at the center of controversy following another on-air mistake during a recent Fox Sports broadcast. Bradshaw, who has been a fixture in the network’s coverage for three decades, has faced increasing scrutiny for a string of on-air slip-ups that have left fans puzzled and social media buzzing.
The latest misstep occurred this past Sunday as Bradshaw was responsible for narrating highlights from the NFL’s early afternoon games. While footage from the Buffalo Bills’ matchup against the Tennessee Titans played on screen, Bradshaw mistakenly launched into commentary about an entirely different game, leaving viewers scratching their heads.
“Nick Chubb is back from his knee injury suffered in Week Two of last year, but it’s Deshaun—whoops, wrong one,” Bradshaw said mid-sentence, despite the broadcast showing a Bills touchdown. His colleague Curt Menefee had to step in quickly to straighten things out. “This is Amari Cooper for Buffalo getting the touchdown,” Menefee clarified, correcting the misidentified footage. “His Bills debut, Buffalo rolling past Tennessee 34-10.”

This latest stumble adds to a growing list of gaffes from the 76-year-old Hall of Famer. In a previous broadcast, Bradshaw drew criticism for an awkwardly worded comment regarding the now-injured Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson. Referring to Watson’s underwhelming performances, Bradshaw suggested benching him by saying, “Do you put Watson down now? He has not played well since he has been in Cleveland, simply has not played well.”
The phrasing immediately raised eyebrows, prompting fellow analyst Howie Long to intervene. “I don’t want to put him down,” Long clarified. “I’d want to sit him.” Michael Strahan also jumped in with a lighthearted remark, saying, “Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. That was a little harsh.”
Fans on social media have taken note of Bradshaw’s recent struggles, pointing out that his mishaps have become more frequent. Some recall that last season, he stumbled through a halftime highlight segment, raising concerns about his performance. Others noted his visible discomfort on-air, coughing and sweating throughout broadcasts, which led to speculation about his health.
Bradshaw’s health challenges are no secret—he revealed that between November 2021 and March 2022, he was diagnosed with two different types of cancer, which understandably took a toll on his wellbeing. While fans have expressed sympathy for the former Steelers quarterback, some are also questioning whether it might be time for the broadcasting icon to scale back his role at Fox.
