Schumer Claims Americans Don’t Care About Biden Investigations?

The ongoing investigations into President Joe Biden’s family members have become a point of contention between Democrats and Republicans. On Wednesday, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) commented on the issue on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

Schumer argued that the investigations were “stupid” and largely pointless, saying that they were distracting from more important issues. He argued that average Americans were not particularly concerned with the ongoing probes, saying that the investigations were just a way for the right wing to talk to each other.

His comments come from several recent indictments filed against former President Donald Trump and Republican investigations into the Biden family. Those investigations have included looking into potential emoluments clause violations, allegations of Russian collusion, and the January 6th Riot.

Schumer argued that these investigations were a distraction from the more serious matters. “We’re investing, they are investigating… That doesn’t help the American people” he said.

“The contrast of yesterday, a former president being indicted for trying to deny an election, and this president today talking about investing in America, that’s going to sink in. It’s our job to make sure it sinks in.”

Joe Scarborough, a former Republican, echoed Schumer’s sentiment by saying that “These investigations don’t matter to the average American people.”

Nevertheless, Schumer may be trying to downplay the investigations, but they have become a significant contention between Republicans and Democrats in Washington.

It remains to be seen how it will all ultimately affect the Biden White House as an increasingly divided Congress continues to debate and investigate critical issues.
