The Governor of New Mexico, Michelle Lujan Grisham, recently banned concealed carry of firearms in the state in response to the growing gun violence in the area.

Gun Owners of America (GOA) took it upon themselves to challenge this ban by filing a lawsuit against the Governor in the U.S. District Court.
🚨BREAKING🚨
GOA and @GunFoundation have received a Temporary Restraining Order against New Mexico Governor’s tyrannical firearm carry ban.
This is a win for all gun owners in New Mexico and sends a clear message to all anti-gun states—Shall NOT Be Infringed.👏

The organization argued that the ban violated the Second Amendment rights of the residents of New Mexico and that there are no exceptions to this amendment. Additionally, the suit claimed that the ban “blows open a huge hole in the Bill of Rights,” which is why GOA wanted to defend the Gun Rights of the people of New Mexico.
On Wednesday, GOA saw success in their challenge when a U.S. District Court granted a temporary restraining order against the Governor’s ban. This order was made orally, which means that the ban on concealed carry is temporarily reversed, and GOA will have time to present its case before making a final decision.
The decision was welcomed by gun advocates who believe the Second Amendment gives everyone the right to bear arms for self-defense. Even though the temporary restraining order only applies to the New Mexico ban, this could signal a wider trend of challenge against other states that have imposed similar bans.
As this issue develops, members of GOA and gun rights supporters will continue to bring attention to the importance of self-defense and the rights that citizens have under the Second Amendment. For now, though, the people of New Mexico have been granted the right to bear arms under the temporary restraining order.
