While most people are honored to visit the Oval Office, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer apparently does not feel that way.

The Democratic governor has been mocked for seeming to hide her face during a meeting with President Donald Trump when she held up folders to cover her face Wednesday, according to a report on Fox News.

The moment was captured by the New York Times.

Whitmer, a potential 2028 Democratic presidential candidate, met with Trump to talk about a multitude of topics, including a recent ice storm in Michigan, funding for the Selfridge Air National Guard base and the automobile industry.

Michigan State House Speaker Matt Hall and several Cabinet were also in attendance.

“We’re honored to have Gretchen Whitmer from Michigan, great state of Michigan. And, she’s been — she’s really done an excellent job. And a very good person,” Trump said.

After the meeting, Whitmer said she was thought she meeting with Trump by herself and not with others.

Many went to X to roast Whitmer for hiding her face.

“What’s wrong with Gretchen Whitmer, she’s probably embarrassed to be the dumbest person in the room… nobody likes that,” one user wrote.

Gretchen Whitmer is the Nurse Rached of governors,” another posted.

“Gretchen Whitmer, you can’t hide from Trump. He outsmarted you. Agreed, not that hard to do. And then he charms you right into political heaven. Hahaha,” someone wrote.

“So, her name will descend from Governor Gretchen Whitmer to Big Gretch then onto THE WOMAN HIDING BEHIND THE BLUE BINDER,” another posted.

Another added, “Thank you Gretchen Whitmer for hiding your face and showing the world just how fcking immature you are.”
