“A heartbreaking incident recently occurred at the “Happiest Place on Earth”- Disneyland, CA.

A long-time Disneyland employee, Bonnye Mavis Lear, tragically passed away just two days after a severe accident in the backstage area of the iconic California theme park.

The Orange County coroner confirmed that 60-year-old Lear succumbed to her injuries following a fall from a golf cart on Friday. This tragic event unfolded on Wednesday afternoon at approximately 11:30 p.m., according to the Anaheim Police Department’s press release.

Lear, who had been a dedicated Disneyland Resort employee for 24 years, was well-known for her work supporting membership services at Club 33, the park’s exclusive private dining club. Her long tenure at Disneyland made her a beloved figure among both her colleagues and the guests she served.

Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock expressed profound sorrow over Lear’s untimely death. In a statement to City News Service, Potrock conveyed the deep sense of loss felt by the entire Disneyland community.

“We are heartbroken by the loss of Bonnye and offer our sincere condolences to everyone who cared for her. We are focused on supporting her family and our cast members through this tragic event and making sure they have the resources they need,” Potrock stated.

Lear’s sudden passing has cast a shadow over Disneyland, a place synonymous with joy and wonder. Her contributions to the park over the years were invaluable, and she will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
