Masked men forcefully entered a live, public broadcast with weapons in hand, terrorizing the set and causing chaos. Footages from the moment show the intruders carrying guns and what looked like sticks of dynamite. To make matters worse, loud noises similar to gunshots can be heard, creating a truly terrifying atmosphere. The broadcast was cut off after around 15 minutes. Although no one was harmed in the incident, it is evident that this was a traumatic event for everyone involved.

The intruders were reportedly arrested soon after the attack. The event took place in Ecuador, a country that has been struggling with drug-related violence and crime, and the leaders of its famous drug cartels continue to pose a threat. It is also noteworthy that this attack took place just a day after raids and abductions that seem to be linked to the recent escape of two notorious gang leaders from prison.

The incident has sparked fear and outrage among the people of Ecuador. According to Alina Manrique, the head of news for TC Television, she was held at gunpoint and ordered to the floor by one of the masked men who broke into the building. In an interview, she expressed her horror, saying that she still cannot believe what happened and that it is time for her to leave this country for some time.

The President of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, declared a state of emergency in response to these attacks. He also released a decree designating 20 drug trafficking gangs as terrorist groups and permitting the military to take necessary action to neutralize these gangs. According to the authorities, all the arrested assailants will be charged with terrorism, and the maximum penalty for this offense in Ecuador is 13 years in prison.

This state of emergency comes after the escape of two notorious gang leaders – Adolfo Macías, AKA “Fito,” and Fabricio Colón Pico – from prison. Both of them were wanted for various heinous crimes and continued to operate their drug gangs from behind bars. These escapes have provoked serious concerns among the public and the government, as it is evident that these criminals pose a grave threat not only to the country’s security but also to the safety of its citizens.

Although the government has yet to confirm the motive behind the attack on the television station, many suspect a connection to the escaped gang leaders and their criminal activities. It is widely known that gangs in Ecuador are heavily involved in drug trafficking and have been responsible for assassinations and explosions in the past to intimidate and control the government.

The recent events have revealed the extent to which the drug gangs in Ecuador have infiltrated and corrupted the system. The attacks on the television station and the abductions of police officers show that these gangs are not afraid to take on the authorities and challenge their power. It is a dire situation that demands strong and decisive action from the government and law enforcement agencies to bring back peace and security to the streets of Ecuador.

The violence in Ecuador is not a new phenomenon. In recent years, the country has emerged as a key transit point for the drug trade, as it shares a border with the world’s largest cocaine producers, Colombia and Peru.

The attack on a public television broadcast in Ecuador is a clear indication of the rising threat posed by drug gangs in the country. These gangs have become emboldened and are not afraid to use violence to achieve their goals. The recent escapes of two notorious gang leaders from prison have further revealed the weaknesses in the government’s system and the need for urgent measures to tackle the situation. It is a grave concern that demands immediate attention and action from the authorities to protect the people of Ecuador and restore law and order.
