The former Miss Bolivia, Alondra Mercado Campos, has found herself in legal trouble after being arrested and charged with arms trafficking. The 22-year-old, who held the titles of Miss Bolivia Mundo 2020 and Miss Charm Bolivia, was taken into custody last week and is currently being held at Trinidad Women’s Prison in Beni, Bolivia. The shocking arrest comes after law enforcement officials raided the condominium she shared with her boyfriend, and uncovered a stash of firearms and ammunition.

Mercado Campos’ arrest was made during an ongoing investigation into a drug case that involves her fugitive boyfriend, identified as Andres Vasquez. Prosecutors are looking at the possibility of charging the ex-beauty queen with drug trafficking, pending the results of forensic tests on her car.

Investigators believe that the couple could be connected to a drug trafficking ring led by Vasquez. Photos shared on social media show the couple enjoying time together, with Mercado Campos posing happily in a boat and hanging out in a park with their dog.

During her court appearance, a judge ruled that Mercado Campos should be held for 30 days in pre-trial detention due to the risk of flight. This decision was made after evidence was presented showing the 22-year-old’s possible involvement with drug trafficking activities.

The ex-beauty queen is also under investigation for her alleged connection to a drug trafficking ring led by her boyfriend. Video footage found on a seized cellphone allegedly shows her and Vasquez at parties with weapons that were confiscated during the November raid.

Mercado Campos’ social media presence showcases her modeling career, with sultry snaps of her in bikinis and evening gowns. Her latest post, dated December 7th, included photos of her in a tight minidress standing by a pool with the Spanish caption, “neither past nor future. Only here and now. This moment. What happens now, what you feel and what you live. Enjoy it. Tomorrow we shall see.” Despite her current legal troubles, fans and followers continue to show support for the ex-beauty queen, with many leaving comments of encouragement on her social media posts.

The 22-year-old’s arrest has caused a stir in Bolivia, where she was once celebrated for her beauty and pageant titles. The news of her involvement in arms trafficking and possible connections to drug trafficking has shocked many fans and followers, who had admired her for her modeling career and accomplishments. Many are awaiting the results of the ongoing investigation, eager to see how Mercado Campos’ legal case unfolds.

At this time, Vasquez is still listed as a fugitive from justice after going on the run in late November. He is wanted on an arrest warrant for drug trafficking, adding to the severity of the case that Mercado Campos finds herself in.
