Elon Musk described it as “a dart in the jugular that contained like methamphetamine and rabies.”
That unusual visual is exactly how Musk described “Trump Derangement Syndrome” — something he had never experienced before a dinner party around a month before the election on Nov. 5 — and something Musk was not sure existed
“I happened to mention the president’s name, and it was like they got shot with a dart in the jugular that contained like methamphetamine and rabies,” Musk said on Fox News.

The billionaire and Trump advisor went on to describe how others at the party were going crazy and could not have a normal conversation about then-candidate Donald Trump.
This is one of the items Musk and Trump will talk about in a joint interview on “Hannity” at 9 p.m. EST Tuesday.
“It’s like they’ve become completely irrational,” he said to Fox News host Sean Hannity.
“Trump Derangement Syndrome” is just one of the many topics covered in the interview. Others include the Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) work and the first 100 days of Trump’s second administration.
This is the first joint television interview with Musk and Trump.
The two held a news conference last week and discussed DOGE’s role in the Trump administration and its agenda of cutting “waste, fraud and abuse” at the federal level.
So far, the DOGE has investigated the U.S. Agency for International Development, the United States Department of Health and Human Services and the United States Department of Education.
Also on DOGE’s target list is the Pentagon, which, Trump said, has not passed an audit in years.
