Mississippi Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann collapsed during a Senate Session Wednesday, leaving onlookers shocked.
In a video of the incident, Hosemann can be seen standing at his podium before leaning forward and then collapsing onto the floor. The session was called into recess while Senate staffers and senators rushed to assist Hosemann and requested emergency services.
According to the Clarion Ledger, sources have said that Hosemann was conscious after the fall.
Lieutenant Governor Office spokesperson Hannah Milliet said in a press release that Hosemann was “doing well and in good spirits.”
“Lieutenant Governor Hosemann is doing well and in good spirits. He appreciates all of the medical staff and is eager to return to work.”

Hosemann later posted on X saying:
Thank you all for the kind words and prayers. I was dehydrated and am feeling fine now. I am grateful for Mississippi’s phenomenal medical professionals and am ready to go back to work tomorrow. Lesson learned: Stay hydrated.
