Officers Invovled In Hill Arrest Counter Claim

Recently, we reported that the incident between Tyreek and the police might simmer down.

Hill apologized for his actions after seeing the video while still calling for accountability.

Well, that’s all out of the window.

We got an unexpected turn, as a police officer involved in the incident denied ever offering an apology to Hill. During a media conference on Wednesday, Hill suggested that the officer’s representatives had attempted to apologize for the incident, but Hill and his team declined the gesture.

The wide receiver was detained in a dramatic fashion just days before the Dolphins’ season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars. According to Hill, he was forcibly removed from his vehicle, pinned to the ground, and handcuffed—a scene now widely known due to the release of bodycam footage. “They already tried (to apologize), but we declined,” Hill told reporters, inviting the public to form their own opinions about the video footage.

Hill’s account, however, has been strongly disputed by the legal team of Officer Danny Torres, the officer at the center of the controversy. Reports had initially claimed that Torres’s lawyers reached out to Hill in an attempt to clear the air. Torres has since been placed on administrative duties while the department reviews the incident. In response to Hill’s remarks, the officer’s representatives told Outkick, “Neither Officer Torres, his legal representatives, attorneys, or anyone speaking on his behalf has had any communications whatsoever with Mr. Hill, his counsel, or his representatives.”

The discrepancy between Hill’s version of events and the officer’s legal team’s statements adds another layer of drama to this wild incident. Hill, visibly upset with how the traffic stop was handled, has not shied away from expressing his frustration. He has called for Officer Torres to be fired, describing the use of force as excessive and unwarranted. Through his attorney Julius B. Collins, Hill released a statement demanding the officer’s immediate termination: “After a careful and thorough review of the multiple body cameras and concerned citizens’ videos that captured the unfortunate events that transpired… we are demanding the immediate termination of the officer that has been placed on administrative leave.”
