Patel and Crockett Address FBI in Recent Debate

FBI Director Kash Patel walked into back-to-back oversight hearings this week and walked out with something most witnesses don’t get — credibility.

While Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday and the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday threw every insult and insinuation they could think of, Patel barely flinched. Instead, he dismantled their talking points one by one and reminded Americans that his FBI isn’t busy spying on parents or labeling flags “hate symbols.” It’s out there arresting actual criminals.

But don’t tell that to the Democrats. They’re too busy auditioning for MSNBC clips.

Case in point: Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX). She took her turn at the mic and promptly embarrassed herself. Again. Crockett insisted Patel was “the least qualified” FBI director because — wait for it — he had never served inside the FBI before. Only problem? That’s simply not true. Neither James Comey nor Christopher Wray had FBI service under their belts before running the Bureau. Patel pointed out the obvious. She didn’t care. It’s almost as if the facts weren’t the point.

But Crockett wasn’t alone. Senator Cory Booker also threw a fit, proving that outrage is apparently the only bipartisan skill left in Washington. The meltdown was so bad that even Jim Jordan couldn’t keep a straight face. The House Judiciary chair rolled his eyes and then calmly asked Patel if he’d like to respond to the nonsense.

Instead of whining, Patel listed his actual résumé. Public defender. Federal prosecutor. Top staffer on the House Intelligence Committee. Deputy Director of National Intelligence. Chief of Staff at the Pentagon. In other words, the kind of experience that Democrats suddenly don’t care about because it doesn’t fit their “Trump lackey” narrative.

Jordan cut through the noise with a simple truth: Democrats don’t hate Patel because he’s unqualified. They hate him because he’s succeeding.

And the record is tough to ignore. Under Patel’s leadership, the FBI has arrested 23,000 criminals in a short span — a huge jump compared to the Biden-era numbers. That includes 1,400 predators taken off the streets and 4,000 children rescued. While Democrats waste their time fantasizing about Trump indictments, Patel’s team is actually doing the job Americans want: catching bad guys.

Jordan’s rapid-fire Q&A with Patel was the perfect contrast.

“Is the FBI still spying on parents at school board meetings?”
Kash: “No, sir.”

“Is the FBI still targeting Catholics?”
Kash: “No, sir.”

“Is the FBI still censoring Americans?”
Kash: “No, sir.”

“Is the FBI still labeling the Betsy Ross flag a hate symbol?”
Kash: “No.”

One by one, Patel shut down the greatest hits of the Biden-era FBI scandals. No more spying on political opponents. No more ideological witch hunts. No more treating churchgoers and hunters like potential terrorists.

The message was clear: the circus may still be happening on Capitol Hill, but the FBI has new ringmasters now — and they’re not playing politics. They’re making arrests.

That’s why Democrats look so rattled. Because when you strip away the spin, Americans see the difference. Under Biden, the FBI chased conservatives. Under Patel, the FBI chases criminals.

And maybe that’s the real scandal for the Left — a federal agency that’s finally back to doing its job.
