Well, well, well — looks like the Democrats might have finally backed themselves into a corner on the Epstein files, and President Trump is more than happy to hand them a shovel.
On Sunday night, the president took to Truth Social and called on House Republicans to go ahead and vote to release the Jeffrey Epstein documents — you know, the same files the Democrats suddenly care about now that they’re not the ones holding the gavel. Trump’s message was clear: “Release them. We’ve got nothing to hide. Let’s move on from this circus.”

Now, keep in mind, this is the same Jeffrey Epstein case that somehow managed to fall into a black hole of media interest during the Biden years. Not much urgency back then. No primetime hearings. No emotional monologues from MSNBC hosts. Just a lot of yawning and “ongoing investigation” excuses. But now, with President Trump back in office and a Republican-led House, suddenly Epstein is trending again. Funny how that works.
Trump didn’t mince words. He called it a “Democrat Hoax,” cooked up by “Radical Left Lunatics” who, according to him, are trying to distract the public from a government shutdown they caused and an economy that’s bouncing back under his leadership — tax cuts, cost reductions, domestic investment, the whole nine yards.
And look, say what you want about Trump’s style, but he’s got a point about the timing. If Democrats really wanted to shine a light on Epstein’s connections, they could’ve cracked open the files during Biden’s first two years — when they had the House, Senate, and White House. But instead, they waited until it could potentially be used to throw dirt at political opponents. Not exactly subtle.
Thank you, Mr. President. SDNY U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton is one of the most capable and trusted prosecutors in the country, and I’ve asked him to take the lead. The president also took a moment to call out certain Republicans who seem a little too eager to jump into the media spotlight over Epstein. While he didn’t name names directly, it’s not hard to figure out who he meant — Representatives Thomas Massie and Marjorie Taylor Greene, both of whom have made releasing the Epstein documents a bit of a personal crusade lately.
“Some ‘members’ of the Republican Party are being ‘used,’ and we can’t let that happen,” Trump wrote, warning against falling into the trap being laid by the left. In his view, the focus should be on what the Republican Party has done, not helping amplify whatever bait Democrats are laying down this week.
And just to spice things up a little more, Trump said he’s advised the DOJ to look into ties between Epstein and prominent Democrat donors and officials — including none other than former President Bill Clinton. You know, the guy who allegedly took over two dozen flights on the “Lolita Express.” If there’s more to that story, Democrats might want to tread carefully before poking the bear.
Already, attempts to link Trump to Epstein have hit one wall after another. Social media rumors about holiday dinners with Epstein were quickly debunked. Redacted documents excluded testimony from one accuser who said Trump never acted inappropriately and that she never saw him with Epstein. And one Democrat aide? Allegedly caught texting with Epstein during a 2019 hearing. You really can’t make this stuff up.
So here we are. The Democrats, smelling a scandal, demanded the Epstein files be released — and now Trump’s calling their bluff. The House is expected to vote this week. If it passes, the contents of those documents may not only fail to damage Trump, but they could also blow back hard on some names the Democrats weren’t expecting to see.
They wanted the fire. Now they’re about to feel the heat.
Will they regret pushing for the release?
Stay tuned.
