In a striking move President-elect Donald Trump has tapped Fox News host and seasoned veteran Pete Hegseth as his choice for Secretary of Defense. The announcement, delivered through a Truth Social post on Tuesday evening, adds Hegseth to a growing list of high-profile names set to shape Trump’s return to the White House.

“Pete has spent his entire life as a Warrior for the Troops, and for the Country,” Trump’s statement declared, underscoring the loyalty and patriotism that are at the core of Hegseth’s persona. Described as “tough, smart and a true believer in America First,” Hegseth’s appointment aims to signal a strong stance on military policy. Trump’s emphasis on a “Peace through Strength” doctrine aligns closely with Hegseth’s public record and military background, hinting at a reinvigorated defense posture for the U.S.

Hegseth’s résumé is marked by significant service in the U.S. Army, with deployments to some of the most challenging theaters, including Guantanamo Bay, Iraq, and Afghanistan. This distinguished career earned him two Bronze Stars and a Combat Infantryman’s Badge, underlining his firsthand combat experience. Beyond the battlefield, Hegseth has been an advocate for veterans, spearheading two veterans’ advocacy organizations that championed the needs of returning soldiers and their families. His experience and advocacy efforts are expected to infuse the Department of Defense with a perspective keenly attuned to the realities faced by military personnel and their families.

Fox News Media responded to Hegseth’s nomination with a supportive statement, praising his nearly decade-long tenure at the network where his sharp analysis and commitment to military topics made him a standout on “FOX & Friends” and other programs. “We are extremely proud of his work at FOX News Media and wish him the best of luck in Washington,” the network said, echoing the broader sentiment of support from Hegseth’s media colleagues.

Well, the left is having a complete meltdown which means that it was the right pick.

Watch Jennings give a masterclass supporting the decision and watch the look on Carl Berstien’s face.

Joy Reid is having a “moment” as well.

So the Congressman who lost his seat to Democrat gerrymandering, who became a mouth piece for the Dems and then was invovled in a candidate accidentally injuring a reporter at a gun range is upset as well.

You know what’s really insulting is that the in all reality the media probably doesn’t even know who this guy really is they are just flipping out over him being on Fox News.

Check this interview out of Hegseth, it’s impressive:

You know what’s really going to get the Dems in trouble in a few months?

Wait for the confirmation hearings when Democrat Senators are going to criticize a two-time Bronze Star recipient.
