Both President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance are slated to speak at a memorial service for Charlie Kirk, the conservative political activist who was assassinated last week.
The announcement was made Tuesday by Turning Point USA, the organization Kirk founded, per The Hill.
Trump and Vance had previously confirmed they would be attending Sunday’s service at State Farm Stadium, where the Arizona Cardinals football team plays. The stadium can hold more than 63,000 people.
Many other high-profile figures will also speak at the service, including Erika Kirk, Kirk’s widow.
White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, and White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller are among the White House officials also expected to speak.
The event is a first-come, first-served basis, according to the event page.
Doors will open at 8 a.m. local time; the program is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. local time.
The dress code is listed as “Sunday Best- Red, White, or Blue.”
Trump said Sunday he will attend Kirk’s memorial. Kirk was a close ally of the Trump administration.
“A very sad weekend. We lost a great person,” Trump said. “I’ll be going on early Sunday morning. We’re going to Arizona, taking some people with us, on Air Force One.”
The president will award Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom posthumously.
Kirk was shot and killed last Sept. 10 while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University.
Authorities arrested Tyler Robinson, 22, on suspicion of murder. Utah is seeking the death penalty against Robinson, who has seven charges file against him, including one of aggravated murder.
