Hey folks! We’ve got a wild story coming out of the Hamptons today! Picture this: a rookie cop who’s been on the force for just three months pulls over none other than Justin Timberlake for allegedly drunk driving. But here’s the kicker – the cop, 24-year-old Officer Michael Arkinson, had no idea who Timberlake was!
On Monday night, Arkinson saw Timberlake blow through a stop sign and swerve in the right lane. When he pulled Timberlake over, he noted that the star was unsteady on his feet and refused a breath test. Timberlake, who claimed he only had one martini, refused the test multiple times before being arrested.
Now, Arkinson wasn’t even born when Timberlake joined N’Sync in 1995. By the time N’Sync’s hit song ‘Bye Bye Bye’ dropped in 2001, Arkinson was just a toddler. Despite his short time on the job, Arkinson has already gained quite a reputation in the ritzy town of Sag Harbor, earning nicknames like ‘the Sag Harbor Nazi’ among the wealthy residents for his strict enforcement.
One local, Spencer from Shelter Island, recounted his own run-ins with Arkinson. He described how the young officer pulled him over twice – once for a quick U-turn and another time for holding his phone while on speaker. Spencer ended up with a $145 ticket and a disrupted day.
Arkinson’s recent arrest of Timberlake has added to his notoriety. The rookie officer detailed in his report that Timberlake performed poorly on sobriety tests, smelled of alcohol, and had slurred speech. Despite Timberlake’s repeated refusal to take a breathalyzer, he was arrested and brought to the Sag Harbor Police Department.
JUST IN: Justin Timberlake’s mugshot has been released after he was arrested for drunk driving.
Officers say “his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath.”

Timberlake pleaded not guilty in court and was bailed out by his lawyer, Eddie Burke. He quickly left the Hamptons to prepare for his Chicago concert. Timberlake’s case will be back in court on July 26, though he isn’t required to be present.
This incident has certainly put Officer Arkinson in the spotlight. The young cop, who started as a part-time traffic control officer back in high school, has made quite a name for himself in Sag Harbor- actually, there are some not-so-nice names now assigned to him. His parents, an electrician, and a school teacher, have chosen to stay silent about their son’s big arrest.
So, what do you think? Is this a case of overzealous policing or just doing the job by the book? Stay tuned for more updates as this story develops!
