32-year-old Samantha Anthony of San Antonio caused quite a stir when she visited a McDonald’s in the downtown area.
Shortly after 5 a.m., Anthony, who was driving a gold 2011 Cadillac SUV, drove through the drive-thru and placed an order. But things took a dangerous turn when she returned 30 minutes later, causing customers and employees to dive for cover.
According to police, Anthony became agitated and began arguing with the restaurant employees, even banging on the windows. She claimed that her order was missing biscuits and hash browns but the employees stated that they had given her everything she ordered. The situation escalated when Anthony’s boyfriend arrived and joined in the confrontation. At one point, Anthony even claimed that she had not been given any food at all.
The tension reached a breaking point when Anthony opened fire through the drive-thru window, firing eight shots at employees of the store. Thankfully, no one was injured, but the incident left the employees shaken and stunned. One of them shared their experience with KENS, stating that they initially heard a shot and then noticed multiple bullet holes in the drive-thru window.
The incident sparked a six-month search for Anthony, and she was finally identified and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Police released a still image from the restaurant’s kitchen, showing the drive-thru window with bullet holes, as part of their investigation.

An unnamed employee also provided some insight into the interaction that led to the shooting. They stated that when they were talking to Anthony, they noticed that she had the wrappers from her order on her lap. When they asked to see the bag, Anthony became agitated and claimed that she had not been given a bag. However, the employee saw the bag on Anthony’s lap, proving that she had indeed received her order.
This incident serves as a reminder of the escalating violence in our society and the importance of remaining calm and resolving conflicts peacefully. It is disturbing to think that a simple breakfast order could lead to a dangerous shooting, putting innocent lives at risk.
We commend the employees for their quick thinking and ducking for cover during the shooting, preventing anyone from getting hurt. Thankfully, Samantha Anthony has been apprehended and will face the consequences of her reckless actions.
