Breach At USA Air Base Report Released

I just so happened to come across a video on YouTube that was fascinating, and I just couldn’t resist sharing it.

The popular YouTube channel “Angry Cops” recently did a video of a man that was able to sneak onto Andrews Air Force base near DC.

The IG report released to the public blacked out the mans name. So let’s just call him “Mark” who managed to pull off one of the most bizarre stunts on a military base that you’ll ever hear.

This guy, Mark, somehow slipped past security at Andrews Air Force Base, roamed around the base undetected for hours, and even made his way onto a flight line to board an aircraft that was on the flight line (that’s a huge no-no!).

So, picture this: It’s a chilly February morning, 0716 hours, to be exact. Security Forces personnel are manning the gates, letting military personnel and government employees go about their day. That’s when Mark rolls up to the gate in his vehicle. No credentials, no ID check – he just gives a little nod to the airman on duty, who waves him on through. Simple mistake, right? Except this “simple mistake” leads to a three-hour ordeal of unchecked wandering.

Mark didn’t waste time; he was all over that base like he owned the place. He hit up the Post Exchange food court, spent an hour just walking around creepily watching people eat, and then vanished again for a couple of hours.

Mark was completely unaccounted for during that period of time.

Andrews Air Force Base isn’t just any base by the way. It’s “the” base, home to Air Force One, among other critical assets. You’d think security would be tighter, but Mark found his way to the 89th Airlift Wing’s Passenger Terminal, stood there staring at the planes. It wasn’t until he tried entering a VIP lounge that someone (an Airman) finally asked, “Hey, man, what are you doing here?”

That’s when Mark said, “I’m just looking for a ride.”

This is Andrews, where dignitaries, military leaders, and even the President fly in and out. How Mark managed to hang around this high-security area with no credentials is beyond comprehension.

But it gets worse. Not only did Mark walk onto the flight line – you know, where the planes are – but he also boarded a C-40, the same type of aircraft that transports U.S. leaders around the world. Two Airmen were inside testing communications systems as Mark casually strolled aboard, wandered around for a bit, fiddled with stuff in the back, and then just walked off the plane! Nobody stopped him, nobody questioned him, and security didn’t even catch wind of what happened until much later. If this isn’t a major security breach, I don’t know what is.

Eventually, the Air Force wised up, and Mark was arrested. But not before he’d made the entire base look like amateur hour. Investigations revealed that not only did Mark get onto the base without a valid ID, but the entry control point to the flight line had been malfunctioning for weeks, allowing him to slip by. Security forces had flagged it multiple times, but, it had yet to be fixed.

The most frustrating part? When security finally got Mark, he wasn’t cooperative at all. Initially, he claimed he wasn’t on drugs, but later admitted he was “high as a kite.” And despite all that, he refused to spill how he got onto the base or why he was there in the first place.

“We take any unauthorized intrusions at any of our facilities seriously, and this one even more so because of all the distinguished visitors and Air Force One” at Andrews, said Air Force Inspector General Lt. Gen. Sami Said, whose office conducted the investigation into the incident.

There’s also an intreging part about all of this. The guy, “Mark,” he was wearing a bright pink mouse hat.

“We have zero reason to believe this individual meant to harm anybody,” said Said. “His response was ‘I just wanted to see airplanes.’”
