Investigation Widens After New Memos Surface

House GOP investigators say their probe into ActBlue is far from over. New internal memos raise fresh questions about foreign cash and verification gaps. James Comer, the Committee Chairman, cautioned that Democrats have demonstrated they are the party of fraud. He told Fox News Digital that more documents and testimony are expected in the weeks ahead.

ActBlue is a massive platform used by top Democrats to raise money. The company has faced longstanding accusations from Republicans regarding its loose donor standards. ActBlue claims it improved its rules since the probe began. However, new findings show employees green-lighting donations despite questions about their origin.

Verification Rules May Be Flawed

House Administration Chairman Bryan Steil called the current practices into question. He told Fox News Digital that ActBlue’s own admissions raise serious concerns. The so-called passport process did not actually check entries against any government database. A spokesperson for Chairman Jim Jordan confirmed the panel will continue aggressive oversight.

The report cited a letter from ActBlue CEO Regina Wallace-Jones. She claimed donations from outside the U.S. required a passport number. Yet the GOP report alleges the check “only ensures that the entered passport number contains a certain number of characters, not that it is a valid U.S. passport number,” according to Fox News.

Internal notes from employees suggest they ignored red flags on some donors. A memo indicated that a donor occasionally possesses an IP address located in Hong Kong. A second memo mentioned the donor utilizes an Arkansas state code, a situation deemed unsatisfactory. Employees acknowledged that the system can be problematic when enforcing state codes for foreign donors.

Leaders Invoke Fifth Amendment Rights

The Judiciary Committee released transcripts showing a pattern of silence. All ten ActBlue employees and board members invoked the Fifth Amendment. This includes co-founder Matt DeBergalis and CEO Regina Wallace-Jones. They refused to answer questions during closed-door depositions and public hearings.

Comer asserted that by either enabling fraudsters to pilfer taxpayer funds or permitting illegal foreign contributions via ActBlue, Democrats have shown themselves to be the party of fraud. For a while, the left-wing fundraising giant has been under investigation by the committee.
