Billy Joel’s wife took time on Monday to thank fans for their support in light of his recent normal-pressure hydrocephalus diagnosis.
Alexis Roderick Joel took to Instagram to say the couple is hopeful for a recovery from the rare brain disorder described as a form of reversible dementia, “Today reported.”
“Thank you for the outpouring of love and support. We are so grateful for the wonderful care and swift diagnosis we received. Bill is beloved by so many, and to us, he is a father and husband who is at the center of our world,” Alexis Roderick Joel wrote on his account.
“We are hopeful for his recovery. We look forward to seeing you all in the future,” she added.
This is the latest medical condition to affect the 76-year-old singer.
Concerts were initially postponed in March “due to a medical condition,” according to his website.
All concerts are cancelled through July 2026, IJR previously reported.
His condition has worsened and led to issues with his hearing, vision, and balance.
His daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, offered her support on Instagram.
“My Dad is the strongest and most resilient man I’ve ever known… and he’s entirely committed to making a full recovery with ongoing physical-therapy treatments as he continues to regain his strength,” Alexa Ray Joel wrote a post.
Billy Joel has been diagnosed with a brain disorder and has begun canceling concerts.
