So now we’re actually writing checks based on skin color. Not metaphors. Not hyperbole. Cold, hard tax-funded dollars — and only if you’re not White.
That’s not some fever dream cooked up by conservative media. That’s the finding of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, which just dropped a bombshell: the Providence Public School District in Rhode Island was caught red-handed offering student loan forgiveness exclusively to non-White teachers. As in, White educators need not apply — literally.
According to the EEOC, there’s reasonable cause to believe the district violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 — you know, that ancient, dusty federal law that says you can’t discriminate in employment based on race. Apparently, Providence missed that memo. Or maybe they read it and thought, “Well, it’s 2021 now… so different rules, right?”
This wasn’t a one-off mistake or some buried line in a 100-page HR policy. This was an explicit program. The “Educator of Color Loan Forgiveness Program.” Real name. Real policy. And real discrimination.

To qualify, you had to be Asian, Black, Indigenous, Latino, biracial, or multi-racial. That’s it. No mention of qualifications. No review of performance. No consideration for years of experience. Just race.
White teachers? Left out. Not overlooked — excluded. Deliberately.
And we’re not talking chump change. This program promised up to $25,000 in student loan forgiveness after just three years in the classroom. In a state-run public school system. Funded by taxpayers. Including the White ones who weren’t allowed to benefit.
Providence Public School District forgives up to $25k of student loans ONLY if you’re not white.
Now they’re being investigated by DOJ for their illegal racism. https://t.co/P69b4b7sUy

This didn’t just raise eyebrows. It sparked a federal investigation. The Legal Insurrection Foundation, led by Cornell law professor William Jacobson, filed the initial civil rights complaint. Now, nearly three years later, it’s paying off. The Department of Justice is on the case. The EEOC says civil rights laws were likely violated. And Jacobson put it bluntly: this was racist, unlawful, and it’s time for accountability.
But here’s where things get even more disturbing — and more telling.
The district isn’t denying it. Their statement? They’re “reviewing the communication” and will “respond accordingly.” That’s bureaucrat-speak for, “We got caught but haven’t figured out how to spin it yet.”
This didn’t happen in secret. It wasn’t some rogue administrator. This was a public program — marketed, announced, and celebrated by a school district more interested in social engineering than, you know, educating children.
And ask yourself: what if the roles were reversed? Imagine a public school system in 2024 offering debt relief only to White applicants. CNN would be on fire. DOJ lawsuits would be flying. Presidential candidates would be tripping over themselves to condemn it. And rightfully so.
But because it targeted White educators? Silence. Or worse — rationalization.
This is the inevitable endgame of the Left’s obsession with “equity.” Not equality. Not fairness. Equity — the ideological fever dream where you discriminate now to make up for discrimination then. The problem? It’s still discrimination. Still illegal. Still wrong.
You want to know why so many Americans are losing faith in public institutions? This. Right here. Because the very systems that were built to protect civil rights are now twisting themselves into knots trying to figure out when it’s “OK” to ignore them.
This isn’t a story about just one school district. This is a warning. A flashing red light. Because when the state decides some citizens deserve less because of their skin color, it’s not just a bad idea.
It’s unconstitutional. It’s dangerous.
And if the Left doesn’t slam the brakes now, it’s going to take more than an EEOC letter to fix the wreckage.
