Jimmy Kimmel Set to Return to Air on Tuesday

Well, well, well — Jimmy Kimmel is back on the air. The man who couldn’t resist smearing conservatives with provably false accusations just got a warm “welcome back” from Disney, along with a carefully worded statement about “timing,” “sensitivity,” and — wait for it — “thoughtful conversations.”

Because nothing says accountability like a vague PR cleanup job and a five-day timeout.

If you blinked, you might’ve missed his suspension entirely. Kimmel was pulled after he claimed — without evidence — that the 22-year-old man who assassinated conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was a MAGA supporter. Reality check: Investigators have said the exact opposite. Tyler Robinson was reportedly knee-deep in far-left ideology and had a personal hatred for Kirk’s political beliefs. So, naturally, Kimmel spun that into a convenient narrative where conservatives were somehow to blame for their own guy being murdered.

This wasn’t a joke gone wrong. It wasn’t satire. This was a politically motivated smear during a week when emotions were already raw. And for once, even Disney couldn’t ignore it. Multiple ABC affiliates — including Nexstar and Sinclair — said enough and pulled the plug.

But Hollywood? Oh no, they didn’t take that sitting down.

Cue the late-night meltdown. Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert, and Bill Maher all threw their arms up in a coordinated chorus of “How dare you?” Former Disney CEO Michael Eisner even crawled out of the shadows to scold the company he once ran. And Twitter? Forget it. The word “censorship” was trending faster than you could say “double standard.”

They’re so ridiculous and whiny.

But here’s the part no one wants to say out loud.

It wasn’t just the comment. It wasn’t just the timing. It’s that Kimmel’s been circling the ratings drain for a while now — and everybody knows it. Since President Trump came back onto the national stage, Kimmel’s audience has plummeted. The monologues that once drew applause now pull yawns, and the smug lectures disguised as jokes just aren’t cutting it anymore.

So Disney hits pause, lets the headlines cool off, issues a sanitized statement about emotions being “high,” and rolls him right back out on stage. Because hey, why deal with consequences when you can just wait for the weekend to pass?

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room.

If a conservative host — say, Tucker Carlson — had said something half as reckless after a liberal activist was murdered, do we really think he’d be back on air the following week after some “thoughtful conversations”? Oh wait, that did happen- and guess what? He never came back on air. Shocking…the double standard yet again.

The rules are different depending on which team you play for. Kimmel says something inflammatory? It’s “emotional.” He spreads misinformation? It’s just “ill-timed.” But if you dare to push back against the narrative — or worse, tell the truth when it’s inconvenient — you’re labeled dangerous and disposable.

This isn’t about free speech. This is about a Hollywood ecosystem that only protects its own — no matter how dishonest, divisive, or flat-out wrong they are. Kimmel lied on national television about a political assassination, and instead of offering a real apology, he lawyered up and let the outrage machine spin him into a victim.

So yeah, he’s back on the air. But the damage is done. The mask slipped. And millions of Americans saw exactly how far some will go to twist tragedy into political ammunition.
