Surveillance video has recently been released showing the disturbing moment a transgender sex offender tried to kidnap a young boy during recess at Black Forest Hills Elementary School in Aurora, Colorado. The horrifying incident has shocked parents and school officials alike.

According to an affidavit from the Aurora Police, 33-year-old Solomon Galligan walked onto the school’s field at around 2:20 pm and attempted to grab two separate boys. In the surveillance footage, Galligan can be seen approaching the children as they play, with one boy running away and the other being grabbed by Galligan. Thankfully, the boy managed to escape unharmed.

Parents were able to view the surveillance footage at a recent meeting, and their reactions were understandably shocked. One parent, Dante White, expressed his dismay and called for action to be taken.

He, along with other concerned parents, is calling for an independent investigation into the incident, as well as requesting more safety training, increased fencing, and better surveillance equipment for the school.

The meeting between parents and school officials also revealed that the child who Galligan targeted reported that the suspect had long dreadlocks and was dressed in a dark pantsuit and blue hoodie. The child also noticed that Galligan had white powder on his face and smelled of alcohol. This information was crucial in helping law enforcement locate Galligan shortly after the incident.

Upon being approached by police at a nearby Walgreens, Galligan claimed to have been assaulted and asked to be taken to the hospital. It was there that his identity was revealed as a registered sex offender who had previously been convicted in 2011 for nonconsensual touching of another’s intimate body parts.

Galligan has been arrested for second-degree kidnapping and is currently being held in the Arapahoe County jail under a $25,000 bond. The school district has promised to thoroughly investigate the incident and make necessary improvements to prevent similar situations from occurring in the future.
