The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has recalled over 35,400 pounds of Johnsonville turkey kielbasa sausages. Salm Partners initiated the recall after receiving consumer complaints about the possibility of foreign material contamination.
The affected product, 12-ounce Johnsonville Polish Kielbasa Turkey Sausages with “best by” dates of May 17 and May 18 and the establishment number “P-32009,” has been distributed to retail centers in 10 states, including Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, North Carolina, Iowa, Kansas, and Minnesota.

Johnsonville, which recently acquired Salm Partners, has stated that the safety of its consumers is its top priority, which is why this recall was initiated. The company has urged consumers to either dispose of the affected product or return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.
The FSIS has also reminded consumers that no adverse reactions or injuries have been reported to date. However, they have advised the consumer not to consume the affected product to avoid any potential health risks.

Johnsonville has taken swift action to remove the affected sausages from their retail partners’ shelves. They have also stressed that this recall only affects products with specific “best by” dates and that other Johnsonville Polish Turkey Kielbasa sausages are unaffected.
