Donald Trump Jr. has left open the option of running for president in 2028 after being questioned about it during the Qatar Economic Forum.
According to The Hill, Trump Jr. was asked if he would be willing to follow in his father’s footsteps and run for president after his father, President Donald Trump, leaves office.
“These next three and a half years is the greatest opportunity to reset America, to reset relations around the world, to create prosperity and growth for everyone, and I’m all here for it,” Trump Jr. said.
When asked by the moderator if his answer to running for office after his father was “maybe,” Trump Jr. said, “Maybe. You never know.”
In a clip of the interview, Trump Jr. says his father has changed the GOP.
“So, the answer is, I don’t know, maybe one day that calling is there. I’ll always be very active in terms of being a vocal proponent of these things,” Trump Jr. said. “I think my father has truly changed the Republican Party. I think it’s the America First Party now, the MAGA Party, however you want to look at it.”
