Biden Recently Holds Several Media Appearances

Joe Biden, once heralded as the “Mr. Empathy” of American politics, has seen that image crumble during his presidency. From perceived delays in disaster aid to the political storms surrounding his vice president, his administration seems increasingly defined by strategic misfires and mismanagement. Now, in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, Biden’s alleged stalling of aid to Georgia and North Carolina has ignited fresh criticism, particularly as this delay could affect recovery efforts right before Election Day. While Biden’s missteps pile up, it’s his treatment of Vice President Kamala Harris that adds another layer of intrigue to his presidency.

In what can only be described as undermining behavior, Biden’s habit of upstaging Harris during key moments has become a pattern too obvious to ignore. Most recently, he held a press conference that coincided with Harris’s appearance on “The View,” once again stealing the spotlight.

For Harris, who’s trying to carve out space and establish her own identity ahead of the 2024 election, this move is not just frustrating—it’s a politically damaging trend. And it’s far from the first time. These repeated interruptions by Biden are driving Harris’s team to near-madness and it is becoming incredibly fun to watch.

Harris’s aides are acutely aware of the delicate line she must walk. On the one hand, she needs to remain loyal to Biden, particularly as she continues to leverage his administration’s achievements, such as the recent infrastructure projects he’s promoting. On the other hand, Harris also needs to chart a different course, especially as she delivers more forceful speeches on key issues like abortion rights and the southern border. Her camp is trying to weave in these distinctions without alienating Biden’s base, but the continual tug-of-war between loyalty and ambition makes the task nearly impossible.

The real problem, however, is Harris’s own shortcomings in navigating this political chessboard. Her desire to “create space” while remaining loyal to Biden reads more like indecision than strategy. Her performance on “The View” did little to suggest otherwise. When asked if she would have done anything differently from Biden over the past three years, Harris’s response—“not a thing”—did more harm than good. By failing to offer even the slightest critique, Harris tied herself to an administration struggling with low approval ratings, particularly on issues like inflation and immigration.
