Kathy Griffin Doubles Down on Election Denial, Targets Elon Musk in Interview

Comedian Kathy Griffin is once again back in the political spotlight — and she is not holding back.

In a candid conversation with writer E. Jean Carroll during a Substack Live event, Griffin claimed she does not believe President Donald Trump won the 2024 election fairly — and says she doesn’t care if people think she’s wearing a “tinfoil hat.”

“People think I’m tinfoil hat because I don’t think he won in a free and fair election this time,” Griffin said during the livestream posted on Tuesday to YouTube. Carroll asked who she believed won the election.

Griffin added, “No, I’m going to take a hit for that, and I understand, but that’s just my humble opinion.”

The clip, flagged by The Daily Caller’s Jason Cohen, didn’t stop at Trump.

Griffin also cast doubt on Elon Musk, the billionaire tech mogul who briefly headed up the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under Trump and was tasked with slashing $2 trillion from the federal budget.

“I don’t trust the Elon connection,” Griffin said. “I have my suspicions and yet at the tender age of 64, I never thought I would say something. And I know that sounds crazy, but I just had to put that out there because I can’t resist getting in trouble.”

Musk left DOGE and has been openly critical of several Trump initiatives since, including the 47th president’s much-hyped “big, beautiful bill” signed into law on Independence Day.

Carroll, who accused Trump of sexual abuse in the 1990s, echoed Griffin’s doubts about the election.

“There’s a wave of people who agree with you,” she said.

Griffin responded: “That’s why I’m sort of saying it out loud now because look, I’m not a conspiracy theorist. But something about him winning every swing state, all seven …  it doesn’t sit right with me. But I also don’t know if we’ll really find out anything in my lifetime.”

Griffin has expressed similar sentiments before.

In a recent exchange with former CNN anchor Don Lemon, she stated: “I do not think Trump won in a free and fair election. I believe there was tampering.”

With celebrity voices now adding to the noise surrounding 2024’s hotly contested results, the political temperature continues to rise — and Griffin, never one to shy away from controversy, just threw more gasoline on the fire.
