When Elon Musk was asked about the importance of transparency and accountability, he knew just what to say,
According to the Daily Wire, a reporter asked Tuesday night about any conflicts of interests and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) — the new department Musk heads.
“Does that mean you are, in effect, policing yourself?” the reporter asked. “What checks and balances are in place to ensure accountability and transparency?”
“We are actually trying to be as transparent as possible. In fact, we post our actions on the DOGE handle on X and on the DOGE website,” Musk responded. “All of our actions are completely transparent. I don’t think there’s been a case where an organization is more transparent than DOGE.”
He added it comes down to “sensible checks and balances.”
“The actions we are taking are very straightforward and basic. These decisions don’t rely on individual judgment,” Musk said. “They involve implementing sensible checks and balances in the system to ensure that taxpayer money is spent wisely. This has nothing to do with any contracts related to my companies.”
Musk also added DOGE’s activities are “fully public.”
“If anyone sees something that looks like a conflict, they will not hesitate to point it out,” Musk said. “Transparency is what builds trust, not merely claiming to be trustworthy. It’s about allowing people to see everything that’s happening to determine if I’m benefiting one of my companies. It’s quite clear.”

🚨 WOW. Reporter presses Karoline Leavitt for “proof” of these ridiculous contracts DOGE is terminating… and she literally pulls out the pieces of paper and rattles off each one.
LEAVITT: This is a real fallacy that there is a ‘lack of transparency’ in DOGE. Musk and Trump… pic.twitter.com/XKWC23XfFk
