Over 140 House Democrats voted against a bill Thursday that would deport illegal migrants who have been convicted of sex crimes.

According to Fox News, while HR30 — known as the Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act — passed in a 274 to 145 vote, all those who voted against the bill were Democrats.

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) first introduced the bill in September last year; however, the bill failed to be taken up by the Democrat-controlled Senate and was voted against by 158 Democrats.

The bill would not only deport illegal migrants convicted of sex crimes but further deems illegal migrants inadmissible in the U.S. if they admit to domestic violence or sexual assault charges or are convicted of these crimes.

During her bill’s debate, Mace said President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ open border policies were responsible for American women and children being brutalized by illegal migrants.

“Under the open border policies of Joe Biden and the border czar Kamala Harris, and Secretary Mayorkas, our country has been ravaged by a horde of illegal aliens molesting American children, battering and bruising and beating up American women, and violently raping American women and girls,” Mace said, “My bill makes it very clear that if an illegal alien commits a sex crime or act of domestic violence, they are inadmissible and deportable.”

Fox News further reported Democrats argued the bill would allegedly harm domestic violence survivors. Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA.) reportedly said during the bill’s debate that it does not address the needs of the American people and “widens the highway to Donald Trump’s mass deportation plan.”

In response, Mace posted a video on X, calling out Democrats over their failure to support the protection of American women and girls.

“Just left the Capitol, we just passed HR30, my bill to deport illegal aliens who are rapists, murderers, child molesters, pedophiles from the U.S.,” Mace said, “Once they leave, they should never be allowed back in, and 145 Democrats voted against this common-sense measure to protect women and girls.”

“I can’t emphasize enough the disgusting argument that this bill broadened the definition of domestic violence too much, to broad, that it actually hurt victims of domestic violence. As a survivor of domestic violence, I got to tell you, we can’t broaden the definition of domestic violence enough.”

She added in the caption, “The Left continues to redefine rock bottom.”
