At least one Canadian official is ready to fight the U.S. over tariffs.

Doug Ford, premier of Ontario, posted on X Monday morning that Ontario is prohibiting American companies from provincial contracts.

“Every year, the Ontario government and its agencies spend $30 billion on procurement, alongside our $200 billion plan to build Ontario,” he posted. “U.S.-based businesses will now lose out on tens of billions of dollars in new revenues. They only have President Trump to blame.”

Ford continued by stating Starlink, an Internet company owned by Elon Musk through his tech company SpaceX, will not be operating in Ontario anymore.

Musk also is the head of Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

The Starlink contract is for $100 million, per am800.

“We’re going one step further. We’ll be ripping up the province’s contract with Starlink. Ontario won’t do business with people hellbent on destroying our economy,” Ford said.

“Canada didn’t start this fight with the U.S., but you better believe we’re ready to win it,” Ford added.

Ford also appeared on Fox News Monday morning to talk about the issue.
