First came love, and now Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are getting married
The pop star and NFL great announced their engagement with an Instagrampost Tuesday, per the Associated Press.
The words “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married” was accompanied by five photos of when the engagement happened — although it is not clear just when that was.
One of the photos showed Kelce down on one knee as Swift caressed his face.
The two have been dating for two years. In that time, Swift has been a regular attendee at Kansas City Chiefs football games as Kelce is a star tight end.
Kelce was also a regular ticket-goer in last year’s Eras concert tour by Swift.
Some believed that the relationship was a publicity stunt even there was no evidence that was true.
Just two weeks ago, the couple appeared together on the “New Heights”podcast Kelce hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce, who was a center for the Philadelphia Eagles.
As if her presence on the podcast was not enough, Swift announced her new album — “The Life of a Showgirl.”
On the episode, Swift
likened her career to her fiance’s. She said their jobs were “to entertain people for three hours in NFL stadiums.”
Swift was first seen at a Chiefs game on Sept. 24, 2023. She admitted to with TIME magazine that they actually began dating long before that, Fox News reported.
“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” she said. “We started hanging out right after that. So, we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other.”
“By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple,” she added.
