Trump Responds to Aftyn Behn’s Nashville Remarks

Well, if there were ever a way to lose a Tennessee election faster than you can say “George Strait,” Democrat Aftyn Behn may have just discovered it. The radical-left candidate running for Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District seat managed to tick off just about every traditional Southern value in under a minute — and President Donald Trump isn’t letting voters forget it.

In a fiery Truth Social post Sunday, Trump went full throttle on Behn, throwing his weight behind Republican Matt Van Epps while torching her for what he called an open disdain for everything from Christianity to country music. And in case anyone thought this was just political bluster, Trump reminded everyone: “She said all of these things precisely, and without question — IT’S ON TAPE!”

The quote in question? A lovely little tirade where Behn declares: “I hate the city, I hate the Tennessee bachelorettes, I hate pedal taverns, I hate country music, I hate all the things that make Nashville … I hate it.” Quite the campaign slogan.

Now, let’s be real here — Nashville is basically America’s capital of bachelorettes and country music. You don’t have to like pedal taverns, but publicly trashing your own state’s cultural identity right before a special election probably wasn’t the flex Behn thought it was.

Trump didn’t hold back, painting her as part of the far-left crowd that “hates Christianity, will take away your guns, wants Open Borders, Transgender for everybody, men in women’s sports.” He called her out for pushing the usual laundry list of woke causes that, let’s be honest, play like a horror movie to most conservative voters in Tennessee.

And just to make sure there was no room for confusion, he warned: “Do not take this Race for granted. The Radical Left Democrats are spending a fortune to beat one of the best Candidates we’ve ever had, Matt Van Epps!” With the special election happening Tuesday, Trump made it clear this isn’t just about winning a seat — it’s about sending a message.

Behn tried walking back her viral rant on the “Breaking Points” podcast, offering what might be the most bizarre political defense in recent memory: “I was conceived after a George Strait concert, so I feel personally attacked.” That’s certainly… an attempt at relatability. But considering she just told the world she “hates” country music, being conceived to a country star doesn’t quite undo the damage. If anything, it just makes Thanksgiving dinner at her house even more awkward.

As if that weren’t enough, another audio clip surfaced of Behn describing a recurring dream in which she shouted in a cafeteria full of women, “I don’t want children, I want power!” Not exactly the kind of message that’s going to resonate with Tennessee families who still believe in faith, family, and, yes, kids.

Trump’s endorsement of Matt Van Epps — already popular with grassroots conservatives — just turbocharged what was already a solid campaign. Van Epps has positioned himself as a pro-Constitution, pro-family, pro-Tennessee candidate, and now he’s got the full backing of the most influential Republican in the country.

With Democrats pouring money into the race, the left clearly thinks they’ve got a shot. But with Behn’s comments lighting up social media — and not in a good way — Tuesday’s special election might end up being less about flipping a seat and more about how far out of touch some progressive candidates are willing to get.

So buckle up, Tennessee. If you thought pedal taverns were wild, just wait for election night.
