Tucker Carlson stated that President Trump was readying a nuclear strike against Iran in a matter of days. The conservative commentator posted a statement that has already drawn over 53.1 million views. He suggested the target is a secret facility buried deep underground. This claim contradicts public statements made by the President himself.
Carlson cited a supposed “informed observer” who told him that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is pressuring the White House. According to the New York Post, that source said, “Bibi calls Trump about it every day.” The post suggested Netanyahu faces pressure after failing to secure a majority in recent Israeli elections. Carlson argued that American conventional weapons cannot reach the target.
The Target and The Weapon
The alleged target is Pickaxe Mountain, a secret Iranian nuclear site. The Daily Caller reported that Carlson claimed the facility sits under 300 feet of solid granite. He stated that no current U.S. weapon could penetrate that much rock. “The only military option is a nuclear strike,” Carlson argued in his post. He believes the U.S. is moving toward using weapons of mass destruction.
Israeli intelligence reportedly believes Tehran has resumed uranium enrichment at this location. Trump has discussed the possibility of taking out Pickaxe Mountain “within 10 minutes.” However, the President has publicly rejected the use of nuclear weapons in this conflict. He stated that conventional bombs and economic pressure are sufficient to handle the threat. “I wouldn’t use nuclear. We don’t have to,” Trump said during an October broadcast.
Accusations Against Leaders
Carlson went further by accusing top officials of following Netanyahu’s lead. In that same post, he identified CIA Director John Ratcliffe and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. He also blamed leaders of the Democratic Party for this alleged push. The New York Post noted he provided no evidence for these specific claims. The Daily Caller did independently corroborate the claim about the facility with a source familiar with the matter.
Carlson has repeated these claims multiple times since April. He told viewers, “We’re moving toward the use of weapons of indiscriminate mass destruction, possible nuclear weapons.” He insisted on an April 1st broadcast that “Everything hangs in the balance right now. This is not hysteria.” His post on X sparked immediate debate about the nature of the threat.
