If you wanted to know how bad the debate went even the hosts of ABC’s “The View” didn’t think Walz got the job done.
During a recent episode of “The View,” co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin shared her sharp critique of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s performance in the vice presidential debate against Senator JD Vance. Griffin claimed that Walz “dropped the ball.”
The debate, hosted by CBS News and moderated by Margaret Brennan and Norah O’Donnell, saw Walz and Vance sparring on several policy issues. According to Griffin, Vance used a tactic often referred to as “Midwestern nice” to disarm Walz, presenting himself in a calm and agreeable manner that caught the Minnesota governor off guard. “Tim Walz kind of took the bait, so he wasn’t in fighting mode,” Griffin observed, noting that this strategic move may have prevented Walz from effectively challenging Vance on certain statements.
While some praised Vance for his composed demeanor, Griffin found his performance lacking in authenticity. She pointed out moments where Vance attempted to show empathy, but she remained skeptical of his sincerity, recalling past comments he had made, including a jab at “cat ladies,” which she saw as an example of his less-than-genuine persona.
Of course she had to slam Vance so the liberal audience didn’t get mad they were critical of Walz.
Following the debate Walz was given a chance by reporters to clarify his gaffes about his China visit and being friends with shooters and he did himself no favors.
JUST IN: Tim Walz somehow botches his clarification of his 1989 visit to China worse than his response during the debate.
Walz has falsely claimed on multiple occasions that he was in Hong Kong during the tragedy in Tiananmen Square in June 1989.
