It’s almost funny—almost—watching the media contort themselves into rhetorical pretzels trying not to say the words “Trump was right.” Because here we are again. While legacy outlets are busy fact-checking each other on whether to call it a “ceasefire” or a “peace deal,” President Donald J. Trump just pulled off what they told us was flat-out impossible: getting Israel and Hamas to agree on Phase One of a peace plan that could actually bring the Gaza war to an end.
And not just end the fighting, but release all remaining hostages—20 lives still hanging in the balance.
No leaks. No anonymous sources claiming “U.S. officials are concerned.” No foggy “ongoing negotiations” from Blinken’s people. Just Trump, Rubio, and a handwritten note that changed the entire narrative in a matter of hours.
Let’s back up to the moment that’s now frozen in time.
A viral photo shows Secretary of State Marco Rubio leaning in, mid-meeting, to tell the president the deal was on the verge of being finalized. The meeting? A roundtable on domestic terrorism—specifically Antifa, which, yes, is still a real thing, despite the Left’s years-long gaslighting.
Rubio slides a note over:
“Very close. We need you to approve a Truth Social post soon so you can announce deal first.”
You can practically hear MSNBC’s control room alarms going off.
Trump wasted no time. Within minutes, his Truth Social post was live:
“BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS!”
And just like that, he owned the headline. Again.
Not surprisingly, the first to publicly credit the president wasn’t a CNN analyst or a Beltway think tanker—it was Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who praised Trump by name:
“Through steadfast resolve, powerful military action, and the great efforts of our great friend and ally President Trump…”
With the approval of the first phase of the plan, all our hostages will be brought home. This is a diplomatic success and a national and moral victory for the State of Israel.
From the beginning, I made it clear: we will not rest until all our hostages return and all our goals…

That’s not soft diplomacy. That’s a world leader throwing the spotlight exactly where it belongs.
And while the usual suspects were fumbling for their “But-actually…” takes, former hostages and their families chimed in with something that cuts through the noise: gratitude. Real people. Real stakes. Lives on the line. And they’re thanking Trump.
Meanwhile, over at CNN, Jake Tapper—clearly doing his best to hold back a full eye roll—cautiously referred to it as a “ceasefire,” reminding everyone that this wasn’t a full peace agreement yet. Because, you know, God forbid we get ahead of ourselves and acknowledge that Trump might be, oh, leading the world again.
.@jaketapper‘s first reaction to President Trump’s monumental announcement that Israel and Hamas have agreed to the first phase of his peace deal is to refuse to call it a peace deal.

Fox News’ Brit Hume, never exactly known for gushing, admitted this one was huge.
“The President will get a great deal of credit for this,” he said. Even added that the whole thing “seemed almost impossible.”
So let’s break this down.
We’ve got a sitting president who managed to do what the entire foreign policy establishment—Biden’s team included—has failed to do for decades: bring two bitter enemies to the table, lay out a roadmap for peace, and push both sides to agree to a first phase that includes the return of every last hostage.
All while the media still clutches its pearls over his Truth Social feed.
And then Nate Morris, Republican Senate candidate from Kentucky, said the quiet part out loud:
“Not only should the agreement win Trump a Nobel Peace Prize, but the award should be renamed after the president.”
Sounds extreme? Maybe. But let’s review: Obama got the prize for basically giving a speech in Berlin and… existing. Trump just orchestrated an agreement between Israel and Hamas, with hostages being freed and the first actual blueprint for Palestinian statehood in over a decade. But sure, let’s keep pretending he’s just tweeting in all caps from a bunker.
Here’s the part that really stings for the opposition: no one expected this. Not from this president. Not while they’re still busy chasing him through the courts. Not while they’re accusing him of every crime short of jaywalking. And definitely not while Biden is barely staying awake in photo ops with global leaders.
But Trump doesn’t need a podium with gold trim or a handshake staged for the cameras. He needs a deal. A pen. A phone. And maybe, just maybe, a note slid across a table.
It’s happening.
And they can’t spin it fast enough.
