President Donald Trump announced plans on Saturday to form an “AI Force” and appoint an “AI ‘Czar’.” This move aims to boost artificial intelligence development across the United States. The President made this declaration after industry leaders urged a slowdown in tech growth.

Trump’s Direct Response to Industry Warnings

Industry titans like Elon Musk and Sam Altman recently warned that AI development should pause. They cited safety concerns following several close calls with new systems. Trump rejected this call for caution in a post on Truth Social. He stated he will not let anyone stop the growth of this industry. The President framed the push as a direct defense of American innovation against political attacks. He compared current fears to past “Hoaxes” generated by the “Radical Left Dumocrats.” Trump declared he would not allow this to occur to AI without taking action.

The White House failed to promptly reply to comment inquiries, per The Daily Caller News Foundation. Trump observed that roughly 75% of Americans resist constructing data centers close to their residences. He argued that these projects actually bring higher salaries and safer streets to local communities. The President claimed that attacks on data centers have largely failed because people now see the benefits. He said critics are now shifting their focus directly at artificial intelligence instead.

Data Center Jobs and Economic Impact

The data center industry has already created millions of jobs across the country. A February 2025 study by PwC showed American jobs in this sector rose from 2.9 million in 2017. By 2023, that number grew to 4.7 million according to reports. This growth supports the need for skilled blue-collar workers to build the necessary infrastructure. An initial $115 million investment by Meta will fund a new academy for training such workers. Joel Thames, a vice president at Associated Builders and Contractors, called it “the largest workforce development investment in history.”

Training programs are already underway in cities like Houston, Indianapolis, and Columbus. The Houston site will host a general construction training program starting November 2. According to reports, the United States labor market requires hundreds of thousands of skilled trade workers. These include fiber technicians, welders, plumbers, and electricians. Meta considers this a remarkable chance for these American heroes to drive America’s future, according to the company.

Public Concerns and Energy Demands

Many Americans remain worried about how AI will change the workforce. Some people told Fox News Digital that they believe jobs will disappear soon. However, new research from Yale’s Budget Lab found no link between AI adoption and job loss. Another report by the Bureau of Economic Analysis found AI use is linked to stronger economic growth. Despite this, public fear remains high regarding the rapid pace of technological change.

Energy consumption is another major factor in this expansion. The growth of data centers is projected to ramp up electricity demand to record levels. Between 2014 and 2024, California experienced a roughly 96% increase in electricity prices. One person interviewed by Fox News Digital noted, “We have an energy crisis.” They added that the country does not have enough energy to take AI to the next level right now. The President’s new plan seeks to push forward despite these concerns.

Trump’s post on Saturday outlined a clear path for future action. The administration will look for “BAD” behavior using the existing criminal and civil justice system. This approach aims to protect the industry while ensuring safety standards are met. The formation of this force marks a significant shift in how the federal government handles tech growth.
