Jill Biden Gets COVID… Again

First Lady Jill Biden was diagnosed with COVID-19 following a positive test result on Monday evening. Her communications director, Elizabeth Alexander, assured her that she was only experiencing mild symptoms then.

This diagnosis follows her husband and current President of the United States, Joe Biden, who tested negative for the virus. Alexander confirmed that Jill Biden is currently in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, and will remain there for the time being.

This isn’t the first time this couple has been affected by the virus, as they both tested positive for it in November 2020, with each experiencing what Alexander referred to as a “rebound” in the following weeks.

It’s unclear how the First Lady contracted the virus this time around, as she and her husband have been fully vaccinated and had their boosters shots. It’s possible that this was due to a recently identified variant.

At a Sunday press meet near his beach house in Rehoboth, Biden denied that he was currently on “vacation” despite visiting his beach house over the weekend.

The President then had a hectic Monday, departing Delaware in the morning to celebrate Labor Day in Philadelphia before traveling back to his home state and then to the White House.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, COVID-19 cases are indeed rising again as new variants have been identified and established. This cannot be ignored, and it serves as a reminder to everyone to stay safe, keep their distance, and wear a mask in public.
