Andrew Roth says the biggest threat to freedom in your state capital is not a Democrat, but a Republican who votes like a Democrat. The State Freedom Caucus Network President told the Daily Signal that fake conservatives are the main obstacle to cutting spending and securing elections. He warned that these politicians run as Republicans to get elected, then vote for liberal policies once they take office. This problem exists in all 50 states, but it hits red states the hardest.
Roth explained that Democrats in red states know they cannot win with a “D” after their name. So they switch to an “R” to get into the legislature. Once inside, they vote like Democrats anyway. To combat this particular issue, the State Freedom Caucus Network was established. Across 15 states, 180 members comprising the group remain committed to halting this trend. Many of these members plan to run for higher office to fix the mess.

The good news is that these freedom caucuses are already getting results where they lead. The Missouri Freedom Caucus helped the state legislature reduce its budget by nearly $4 billion. The budget is now lower than it was two years ago. Roth says this happened squarely because of the Missouri Freedom Caucus. Wyoming and South Dakota have achieved the same flat budgets. He invited us to consider a scenario where Congress possessed such fiscal discipline.
These lawmakers also fight hard to protect your community from government overreach. To ensure Missouri was redistricted fairly, the network launched an offensive campaign. They also fought in Maryland to prevent bad redistricting efforts there. They are working to remove Flock cameras and stop government subsidies for data centers. Their goal is to set up state freedom caucuses in every state capital to succeed at the state level. Two former members, Chuck Gray and Blake Miguez, are now running for Congress.

He believes the economic benefits will go away if the Left gets control. That is why he says we need conservative policymakers in Washington.
Roberts also highlighted the importance of the One Big Beautiful Bill for your family’s wallet. He noted that absent this bill, American people would have faced a $4 trillion tax hike. The bulk of that tax hike would have gone to working-class and middle-class families. The law renewed Trump’s 2017 tax cuts permanently.
