Axios reported that senior Democrats warned Marie Gluesenkamp Perez is “playing with fire.” One lawmaker told the outlet that everyone in the group is “sick of the bulls*.”
Punishment Looms for Gluesenkamp Perez
Leadership views the vote as a major breach of trust. Members have expressed concerns about those who are not team players.
Axios reported that Gluesenkamp Perez may not face immediate action, but her committee appointment may be in jeopardy for the next session.
This internal fight follows a similar revolt earlier in the month. Moderates are breaking ranks while progressives demand punishment for those who step out of line.
The split shows deep division just weeks before the midterm elections. Democrats are turning on each other while Republicans hold the floor.
Fetterman Faces Backlash Over Israel Stance
Senator John Fetterman is also facing heat from his own party for his views. He refuses to follow the party line on issues related to Israel and antisemitism.
Despite his hard stance, Fetterman holds perfect scores from major liberal groups. The AFL-CIO gives him a 100 percent rating, and Planned Parenthood also rates him at 100 percent.
Although conservative groups award him zero ratings, he stays more liberal than 31 of his fellow Senate Democrats. His ideology score is just 0.20 on a scale where 1.0 is most conservative.
Fetterman drew ire after appearing at a Republican event in Dallas on September 9. He also criticized a Michigan Senate nominee for consorting with an influencer.
Townhall reported that radicals within the party say his “purity is suspect.” Critics argue he must be punished for his independence.
The Cost of Disunity

Leaders cannot agree on rules, and members are attacking their own colleagues. The party is fighting itself instead of focusing on the upcoming election.
